The economy sucks, great web talent (designers, developers, copywriters, marketers, seo people) are getting laid off and freelancers are struggling for work. They've lost their position, clients and income not due to job outpout but due to the economy downturn.

I’m one of the founders of Mavenlink, a site built for exactly this purpose. We have recently launched and are actively getting projects into the system. We understand as well as anybody right now how bad the economy is and that freelancers (Mavens!) are struggling to find work.

We build sites using great django web framework.
I consider myself a whiz when it comes to CSS and stylizing pages, not designing them but taking the design work and making it work. I can take any design and make it functional. I also am a mid-level PHP developer as well.
