The "Bestest" Artist & "Bestest" Mommy in the World
written by Allan on November 12, 2008
My Mom is the best Mom in the world, yes better than your's. After all, she birthed me and I'm the size of a dump truck. After birthing me naturally, she homeschool all 5 of us kids. But before kids she majored in Art Education in college. For the past 30 years she's been raising us kids staying too busy to create art. Now we're all grown and she's back doing art and enjoying more of the things she likes to do.
Lately she's been painting large scale odd/funny expressions of people she knows. They're incredible, literally amazing. I mentioned to her that we have 3 people reading our blog and I'd tell those 3 people about her work. She'd love to make a few dollars painting. So hey, 3 readers, you need a custom painting of yourself (or loved one) from my Mom. Yeah I am talking to you. For $200-$400 you can get a painting done, they take about 2 weeks. The price really just pays for the paint, canvas and shipping. She's not trying to making a living as an artist, she just loves to paint and see people enjoy them.
Side Note: I look at my parents, they're two extraordinary people. I have squandered good DNA, I should have been a smarter, better looking, more patient person. My Mom is probably reading this and planning to give me an English lesson later today. I love you Mom.

Allan loves his family more than breathing. He lives in Panama City, Florida & grew up washing cars at his family's car washes. Oh and Allan hasn't worn underwear since 2004.

Holy crap, she’s goooooood!
Allan-

Your mom is truly amazing in so many ways, and I really value the time I got to spend with her picking her brain about parenting/schooling. And I was so impressed with her art, as well as her humility. She was embarassed for me to see her studio because it was messy and her paintings because they were unfinished, but everything was SO amazing.
I may see about having her do a portrait for me. It would make a wonderful gift for Daniel. I am thinking this one:
Joey and JAckie on Tacky Tuesday. I’d love to have their expressions captured in painting and it certainly looks like your mom’s style, something she would enjoy.
Will you show her and talk to her about it. I’d like to see about arranging something :)
Thanks!
These are awesome!
WOW! Your mom is an amazing artist. Truly gifted.
Fantastic!
I always knew your Mom was talented…we spent a lot of time together back in those college days in the art room. She definitely has a God-given gift and I’m glad she now has found time to use it after all the years of raising five fantastic kids!
Allan, your mother has talent and gift in presenting it.
I hope Jimmy will share in the talent.
i love your mom too! what a talent!
Those are awesome. I’ve been thinking about getting into painting. I’m not very good at art, but that just means lots of room to grow.
Will she do other things? I could use something to spruce up my living space, but I’m not so keen on pictures of people.
I am so impressed. It is breathtaking and I think I want a painting of Lisa’s gorgeous kids in that photo!
Priceless, Lisa.
I viewed our bahama pics and am so thankful allan has an artistic eye as his mother does. Thanks for sharing.
How do I get copies?
I know Mrs. Branch is busy with new baby Branch on the way, but I too would like to have her paint something of Sam. Again, you do have the bestest mom!
