Last week I wrote a post called Rails is a ghetto....So is ever other place. Lourens Naudé: wrote a comment that is so good I wanted to quote it here for everyone to read. As usual, Lourens hits the nail on the head. "Mongrel was that moment." Wow:
Individuals are easier influenced when in groups. It’s also more difficult and not as flowing to be opinionated within a group.
Cult like behavior if you may.
Moments of greatness leads to isolation. Mongrel was that moment.
A lot of rockstars suddenly swimming in a sea of inferiority. When that happens, more time is spent fending off negative influences VS improving upon or even just enjoying the moment.
One’s general sense of well being and success has A LOT more to do with emotional intelligence, especially when under fire, than it has with kick-ass ruby fu and solving inter personal problems via modern communication channels, which can almost always be blown out of context.
