If you email me...
written by Allan on July 14, 2007
Periodically I post a job listing on Freelanceswitch.com or an industry forum, looking for various help. After a listing I receive countless emails everyday from these listings. I am a bit of an initial email diva.
I delete an email if...
1) The email starts out as "Dear Sir or Madam" (be catchy, I am creative I like to see some personality)
2) The email is longer than 50 lines (don't waste my time, make it short and sweet)
3) A generic email not catered to what my listing requirements are (don't job list spam me)
4) Extremely bad English. I am not a English teacher but if your email sounds like Tonto it gets deleted.
So before you email me looking for work, think twice, be creative and don't waste my time with your life story.
