An Example of Less
written by Allan on June 28, 2007
Every evening I jog, yes fat people jog, well…it’s more of a quick waddle. But I waddle with music. The source, the iPod shuffle. So you’re thinking… “But the shuffle only holds 240 songs?” I don’t need 10,000 songs, I CAN’T WADDLE THAT LONG. This isn’t a review of the shuffle, its Less winning over MORE. It’s about the mp3 player in its simplest, slickest, easy to use form. I don’t need the swiss army knife of mp3 players.
Things an mp3 player needs
Volume Controls..
Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, Pause…
Power On/Off…
Shuffle or Regular Play…
The iPod Shuffle nailed the Golden Rules of Less, its just enough. Just enough function, just pricey enough, just pretty enough, just light enough. Just light enough, you ask? Yes, its just light enough not to annoy you hanging clipped on your sleeve, but just heavy enough for you to tell its there. Pricey enough? Yes, pricey, it’s a bit more expensive then others but the $80 price makes me feel it’s of value. If the Shuffle were only $10 I would assume it’s a piece of junk. The only thing about the shuffle that isn’t Less is the battery life, that is definitely MORE, it lasts forever.
note: the image is of me, sweaty with my trusty shuffle after my evening waddle
